Give me that juicy volume
Need a little extra lusciousness to that pout? Have some deeper set lines that won't respond to other treatments? Fillers may be for you. Hyaluronic acid fillers add subtle (or not if you prefer) volume to the areas first affected by collagen loss in the face. Think lips, & nasolabial folds. Effects typically last 6-9 months but depend on your personal metabolism.
HOW DO DERMAL FILLERS WORK?
Fillers used in the lips and in the fold of the skin are made from hyaluronic acid (HA). HA absorbs up to 1000x its weight in water providing hydration and fullness. Filler can be used to give you a fuller pout and smooth out deeper set lines around the face.
WHEN WILL IT START WORKING?
The effects of filler can be seen immediately; however the area will be swollen for about two weeks therefore I tell clients to give it a full 14 days before final results will be seen.
HOW LONG WILL IT LAST?
The average patient will see the effects of filler for about 9-12 months. There are patients that may experience longer or shorter durations.
HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?
HA fillers are purchased by the syringe. Filler cost is $700/syringe. I use a variety of filler types depending on the area being treated. Depending on your facial goals you may require more than one syringe over time.
WHAT SHOULD I DO PRIOR TO A FILLER TREATMENT?
If possible, avoid any Aspirin, Motrin, Gingko Biloba, Garlic, Flax Oil, Cod Liver Oil, Vitamin A, Vitamin E, or any other essential fatty acids at least 3 days to 1 week before and after treatment.
Discontinue Retin-A two (2) days before and two (2) days after treatment.
WHAT SHOULD I DO AFTER A TREATMENT?
Avoid any excessive manipulation to the area. Avoid any strenuous exercise for 3 days after treatment.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AFTER A FILLER TREATMENT?
You may experience some bruising and swelling.
Swelling typically peaks at 48 hours. To minimize swelling, sleep with your head elevated for the first few nights after treatment. Bruises typically resolve within 10-14 days. Over the counter Arnica supplements may resolve bruising faster.
For the first few days after treatment, it is normal for the areas to feel firm. Over a few weeks, the area will soften as the product integrates with your own tissue.
If you have previously suffered from facial cold sores there is a risk that the needle punctures could contribute to another occurrence. Please let me know prior to your treatment so that I can prescribe you a medication to minimize the risk of recurrence.
